About the opportunity
This traineeship is based at Tarong Power Station in the South Burnett and offers a practical start to a career in supply chain operations within the electricity generation sector. Over a two-year program, the successful candidate will work alongside experienced mentors, gain exposure across warehouse, inventory, and purchasing functions, and complete a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations. The role provides a genuine opportunity to build skills, earn while you learn, and become part of an established organisation with a strong presence in Queensland.
What you will do
- Gain practical experience while studying toward a relevant TAFE qualification as part of the traineeship.
- Support supply chain activity in an operational power station environment alongside experienced team members.
- Rotate through warehouse, inventory, and purchasing areas to develop a well-rounded understanding of the supply chain function.
- Contribute to small improvement projects during each rotation and help make a visible impact on the business.
- Handle day-to-day warehouse work, including receipting, dispatch, safety, housekeeping, and compliance tasks.
- Assist with inventory forecasting, demand tracking, catalogue management, and stock control.
- Support purchasing activities such as creating and processing purchase orders, working with suppliers, engaging internal stakeholders, and following procurement governance.
- Receive and check delivered goods, confirm their condition, and communicate stock and equipment needs with site teams.
- Carry out routine tasks in company systems and maintain a safe, organised warehouse area.
About you
- You should have a genuine commitment to completing the full two-year traineeship and the associated qualification.
- Year 12 completion, or an equivalent level of study, is preferred before the program begins.
- You need to communicate clearly, ask questions when needed, and listen carefully to instructions.
- A driver’s licence by commencement in February 2027 is highly desirable.
