About the Role
Joe Duffy Group operates Ireland’s largest motor retail network, spanning 24 locations, 20 franchises, and 13 brands, supported by a workforce of 600 people. This position sits within the company’s advanced cosmetic repair centres and body shop, where the main goal is to return vehicles to exceptional manufacturer-level condition with high-quality refinishing work.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing by handling body repair prep, masking areas that are not being painted, and applying primers to build a smooth base.
- Mix colours accurately and spray primers, base coats, and clear coats using professional spray equipment and water-based paint systems.
- Inspect completed work carefully to confirm the finish is uniform, well blended, and free from visible defects.
- Keep spray booths, extraction filters, mixing equipment, and spray guns clean and in good working order to maintain a safe and efficient workshop.
- Collaborate with the body shop team and support the development of apprentices through mentoring.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong background as an automotive spray painter, preferably in premium-brand environments, busy dealerships, or professional body shops.
- Practical knowledge of modern vehicle refinishing methods, computer-based paint mixing systems, and water-based paint application.
- Excellent attention to detail, a committed work style, and the ability to work to workshop deadlines under pressure.
- A full, clean EU driving licence is required.
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive industry-leading pay with bonus and overtime potential.
- Pension support.
- Bike to Work Scheme.
- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
- Clear career development opportunities through the Joe Duffy Group Academy, including potential progression into workshop management roles.
