Role Overview
This FBI special agent opening is designed for professionals with an accounting or finance background who want to move into investigative work. The role combines financial expertise with hands-on casework, requiring critical thinking, adaptability, and collaboration with experienced teams addressing national security risks. You will use your analytical abilities to help detect and combat threats such as cybercrime, terrorism, fraud, and other emerging risks.
The role also includes specialized training, practical investigative exposure, and access to modern tools and technology to strengthen your financial analysis and reconciliation capabilities. Major Duties
- Lead and support investigations involving possible breaches of federal law, cybersecurity incidents, and public safety concerns.
- Use sound judgment, initiative, and flexibility to respond to changing investigative needs.
- Develop and preserve working relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement partners.
- Maintain the fitness level needed to carry out law enforcement responsibilities effectively.

Salary Information
The stated pay range for this position is $103,236 to $133,200. Compensation is based on base pay, locality pay, and availability pay.

Education
