Role overview
HATCO for Trading and Contracting W.L.L. is seeking a full-time Senior MEP QA/QC Engineer to work on-site in Qatar. This position focuses on quality assurance and quality control for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and ELV works across data center and building projects, with a strong emphasis on meeting project requirements, international standards, and local regulations.
Key duties
The engineer will be responsible for setting up and carrying out project-specific QA/QC systems, reviewing technical submittals, method statements, and material approval packages, and organizing inspections and testing with consultants, clients, and subcontractors. The role also includes checking site installation activities, spotting non-conformances, suggesting corrective measures, and keeping complete QA/QC records such as ITPs, checklists, test reports, and as-built documentation.
In addition, the position supports commissioning work, contributes to design and constructability reviews, guides junior engineers, and helps improve quality processes across ongoing projects.
Qualifications
- Hands-on MEP engineering experience covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and ELV systems on large building projects or data center developments.
- Demonstrated background in QA/QC, including creating and applying QA/QC plans, ITPs, method statements, and quality procedures.
- Good working knowledge of applicable standards and codes such as BS, IEC, NFPA, and ASHRAE, along with awareness of data center standards and industry practices.
- Experience with inspection and testing of MEP works, witnessing factory and site acceptance tests, and checking commissioning-related records.
- Ability to read drawings, schematics, and technical specifications accurately, and work with design and site teams to clear discrepancies.
- Strong capability in documentation, reporting, and record management, including NCRs, CARs, test reports, and quality as-built files.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
