Senior Accountant

About the Role

This position is for a Senior Accountant within a globally operating industrial organization based in Duisburg. The role centers on group-level accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and audit support, while also offering scope to contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced international finance setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle monthly and annual financial statement preparation and assist with group-level financial analysis.
• Track key performance indicators, compile financial statistics, and produce ad hoc reports as needed.
• Support the design, coordination, and refinement of accounting processes and workflows.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and help ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
• Serve as a point of contact for auditors, tax consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Work with the Shared Service Centre on transactional accounting activities.
• Contribute to audit work and support adherence to internal control standards.

Requirements

• A degree in Business Administration or a similar qualification with a focus on accounting is required.
• Several years of practical experience in accounting is preferred.
• Good knowledge of both German GAAP and US GAAP is expected.
• Strong analytical ability and a structured, self-directed way of working are important.
• Fluency in German and English, both spoken and written, is necessary.
• The ideal candidate should communicate confidently and work well in a team environment.
