Role Overview

This position is for a reliable, safety-minded team member who can help manage donated merchandise in a busy backroom environment. The role supports efficient processing, sorting, weighing, labeling, and movement of donations so items can flow smoothly to the sales floor while waste is reduced and recycling efforts are supported.

Key Responsibilities

• Unload donated goods, sort them correctly, and place them into the proper bins.
• Weigh, tag, and log incoming merchandise while keeping bins in date order.
• Track donation bins and move items forward for processing when needed.
• Maintain stock levels in sub-departments and relocate bins as required.
• Safely discard merchandise that cannot be sold, following company procedures.
• Assist with baling, compacting, recycling, and organizing back-stock.
• Support sale-day setup and other general store operations as needed.
• Keep processing and donation areas clean, orderly, and free of hazards.
• Use balers, compactors, and forklifts only when certified and follow all safety rules.
• Practice safe lifting, wear required protective equipment, and report hazards quickly.
• Help with basic administrative work such as recording weights and inventory data.

Availability Requirements

This job requires open availability, including weekends, holidays, and closing shifts.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and moving throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull rolling containers weighing up to 500 lbs.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, insects, garbage, and occasional rodents.
• Work may be noisy and involve changing temperatures.
• Regular interaction with customers and the public.
• Availability is expected for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay rate is $17.95 per hour. Benefits include a 50% employee discount, 100% employer-paid benefits, 2 weeks of vacation annually, an extra paid day off for your birthday, and opportunities to grow with a rapidly expanding company.

Hiring Process

The hiring flow includes application review, a phone screen for qualified candidates, one in-person interview with the General Manager or Assistant General Manager, a verbal offer if selected, and then a written offer with onboarding details.
