Key Responsibilities

- Work with hiring managers to clarify role expectations, interview structure, and hiring timelines, while keeping searches moving smoothly and expectations aligned.
- Contribute to intake discussions and recruiting check-ins by providing progress updates, sharing insights, and suggesting next steps.
- Coordinate recruiting operations by managing timelines, tracking progress, communicating status and risks early, and following established processes and tools.
- Provide a strong candidate journey through prompt communication, structured evaluations, and consistent feedback from first contact through close.
- Apply data to recruiting decisions by reviewing funnel performance, spotting patterns, and proposing search improvements.
- Use a combination of internal platforms and external tools, including AI-based solutions, to support recruiting workflows.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience across multiple non-technical functions such as business, marketing, design, or people teams.
- Proven ability to manage several active searches at the same time while staying organized and maintaining a strong candidate experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a track record of building trust with hiring partners.
- Comfort using recruiting metrics such as pipeline data and conversion rates to guide your approach.
- Willingness to explore, build, and test AI tools such as ChatGPT for recruiting support.
- Hands-on familiarity with recruiting systems and CRM tools such as Gem, Brighthire, Guide, and Greenhouse.
- Ability to work from or relocate to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania or New York, New York.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recruiting for both non-technical and technical roles across multiple functions.
- Strong awareness of current hiring trends, tools, and platforms.
- Background recruiting within tech companies, startups, or other fast-growing organizations.
- Strong alignment with Duolingo’s mission and values.

The base salary for this position is between USD 119,000 and USD 161,000 per year. Final pay depends on factors such as experience, skills, and internal salary comparisons. The compensation package also includes equity. Candidates are encouraged to discuss compensation details with the recruiter.
