Role summary

This position reports to the Senior QC Inspector and is responsible for checking parts and finished products against company quality standards, as well as witnessing final product testing.

Key duties

• Carry out precise measurements using standard handheld tools, surface plates, coordinate measuring machines, comparators, fixed gauges, thread gauges, and similar equipment.
• Examine machined components, sub-assemblies, and completed assemblies in line with company drawings and internal procedures.
• Inspect finished goods, observe performance testing, and confirm that final documentation is complete and accurate.
• Support goods-in inspection work, including positive material identification where needed.
• Calibrate gauges and testing instruments.
• Take on any other reasonable tasks that match the responsibilities and level of the role.

Essential competencies

• Strong background in mechanical inspection or completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
• Practical experience with hand tools and coordinate measuring machine techniques.
• Good self-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deliverables.
• Consistent focus on quality and high standards.

• Willingness to undertake training and gain non-destructive evaluation qualifications if required.

Preferred experience

• Non-destructive evaluation qualifications, such as PCN Level 2 in visual inspection, liquid penetrant testing, or weld inspection.
• Previous exposure to calibration methods and systems.
• Experience working in situations where customers are present and observing the inspection process.
• Familiarity with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS and/or Aberlink software for coordinate measuring machine programming.
