Role overview
A global investment platform is hiring an Associate for its Principal Finance team in New York. This position sits within a hybrid investing mandate that spans structured equity, junior capital, and opportunistic private equity. It is designed for someone who wants meaningful responsibility early, broad exposure to transactions, and direct interaction with senior decision makers in a lean team setting.
What you will do
- Take ownership of transactions from initial execution through closing across structured equity, junior capital, and opportunistic private equity opportunities.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models, including LBO, structured equity, and downside case analysis.
- Coordinate diligence efforts with management teams, external advisors, and internal counterparts.
- Draft investment presentations and communicate findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Assess opportunities across the capital structure with attention to equity upside and risk-adjusted return potential.
- Assist with ongoing portfolio monitoring and support initiatives aimed at improving portfolio company value.
- Turn complex data and analysis into concise, decision-ready recommendations.
Investment scope

Candidate profile
- 2 to 4 years of experience in investment banking or investing, including exposure to M&A, leveraged finance, capital markets, private equity, or private credit.
- Strong financial modeling skills across LBOs, structured equity, and scenario analysis.
- Ability to evaluate downside protection as well as equity growth potential.
- Comfort managing several deal workstreams in a fast-moving environment.
- Clear communication skills and confidence presenting to senior leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Background from a top-tier investment bank, a leading middle-market platform, or a recognized buy-side fund is preferred.
- Prior transaction execution and modeling experience is important.
- Interest in hybrid investing strategies with significant equity exposure.
- Motivation to develop into a long-term investing and origination career.
