Patient Transporter

About the Role

Crothall Healthcare is looking for Patient Transporters for both full-time and part-time schedules at its Pensacola, Florida location. The role centers on moving patients and related items safely, on time, and with care inside the hospital environment.

Work Location and Schedule

This position is based at Crothall Healthcare, 123 Baptist Way, Pensacola, FL 32503. Applications are accepted online only. Shifts are available on Thursday through Sunday, with possible daytime hours during off weeks. Standard hours are 6:30 pm to 6:00 am, and additional details will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation

The role pays a fixed rate of $15.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Move patients and ensure they are secured properly during transport, including IV lines, drainage tubes, and other attachments.
• Use wheelchairs and other approved transport equipment correctly to complete patient transfers.
• Handle patients across all age groups with the appropriate level of care and competence.
• Deliver patients to the right destination safely, accurately, and within the expected timeframe.
• Coordinate and communicate clearly with nurses, clinicians, technicians, reception staff, and dispatch as needed.
• Support patient comfort by being attentive, offering blankets when needed, protecting modesty, and keeping conversation appropriate.
• Do not transport patients who are in severe pain.
• Immediately notify nursing staff if a patient shows signs of distress or if transport equipment is not working properly.
• Keep transport equipment in good condition and report anything that needs repair.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and JCAHO standards.
• Respect facility confidentiality requirements and patient rights, including HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Complete other related tasks as assigned.
