Operations Research Analyst - AI Trainer

About the role

This position is for quantitative specialists who can help improve AI systems. You’ll work with advanced models on tasks such as reviewing AI-produced quantitative analysis, tackling technical challenges, and sharing feedback that helps refine how the models handle data, mathematical reasoning, and scientific problems.

Candidates from operations research, data science, astrophysics, economics, biostatistics, and other quantitative disciplines are welcome, provided they are comfortable approaching data and models with strong analytical rigor. Some contributors do this alongside another full-time job, while others use it as their main work.

After creating an account, you’ll complete a short assessment that acts as the selection step. If successful, you’ll receive confirmation by email and paid assignments will be unlocked on the platform.

Contract benefits

Responsibilities

• Check AI-generated quantitative outputs for correctness, including statistical analysis, predictive models, scientific reasoning, and data-based conclusions.
• Create and solve quantitative tasks used to train and evaluate AI systems, covering forecasting, experimental work, optimization, and statistical inference.
• Prepare concise technical write-ups and maintain clear, well-structured analytical code.
• Share feedback that helps improve future AI models designed for quantitative reasoning.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of practical experience in a quantitative job or research setting, such as data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or a related area.
• Basic coding ability and confidence in writing as well as reviewing analytical code from start to finish.
• Working knowledge of statistics, predictive modeling, and experiment design, including A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
• Strong English fluency at native or bilingual level, along with excellent writing skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred, such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar field; a master’s degree or PhD is an advantage.
• Extra credentials are helpful, such as a strong Kaggle ranking, AWS or GCP machine learning certifications, or similar proof of expertise.

This is an independent contractor role. Payment is processed through PayPal, and PayPal will manage any currency conversion from USD. No payment or fees will ever be requested from applicants. Only candidates based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand will be considered.
