Role overview
This full-time reception role runs from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and sits at the front desk of the Autobody and Van Service Centre at Mercedes-Benz Melbourne. The position is central to creating a polished, efficient, and customer-first experience for accident repair and commercial vehicle service customers.
You will handle incoming calls, field repair and service enquiries, and guide customers to the right internal contact. The role also involves close coordination with body shop estimators, service advisors, and workshop personnel so jobs move smoothly and administration stays accurate.
Hands-on experience with the iBody platform is a key part of the job, as it is used to manage autobody repair administration, track job progress, and keep the workflow organised. In addition, you will greet visitors, maintain a tidy and professional reception space, and represent the brand to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to incoming telephone calls quickly, politely, and professionally.
- Handle enquiries relating to service work, repairs, and accidents, then route them to the appropriate person or team.
- Support bookings and help keep workflow moving across autobody and van service operations.
- Use iBody to administer repair jobs, manage documents, and monitor job status through to completion.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as job cards, repair paperwork, and internal communication.
- Work closely with service advisors, estimators, and workshop staff to maintain efficient operations.
- Welcome customers and visitors in a warm, professional manner.
- Keep the reception area clean, orderly, and presentable at all times.
- Record messages accurately and pass them on promptly.
Candidate profile
Applicants should bring strong communication, customer service, and organisational ability, along with a confident, polished phone manner and professional presentation. Experience handling a busy multi-line switchboard is important, and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems is required.
Experience in automotive service, autobody, or repair-centre reception is highly valued. Prior use of iBody is preferred, though not mandatory.
