Role overview

This position is for experienced all-source analysts who will support CENTCOM operations in assistance to USAF OSI. The work focuses on counterintelligence analysis, threat assessment, and production of actionable intelligence for multiple locations across the region, including Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The team’s mission is to combine intelligence with raw data from a range of sources and classification levels to identify foreign intelligence threats, patterns, structures, and locations. The role also supports the timely sharing of both immediate and planned force protection assessments with commanders across six forward-deployed Air Force Central units in the CENTCOM AOR, as well as one CONUS-based unit.

Key duties

  • Track, analyze, and evaluate hostile intelligence activity aimed at collecting sensitive national security information on U.S. persons, operations, and interests, including risks created by emerging technologies.
  • Study foreign intelligence methods and U.S. and partner counterintelligence capabilities in order to produce in-depth all-source CI research and help shape CI strategy.
  • Create and deliver instruction on collection-operation tactics, techniques, procedures, and related processes that support human intelligence and technical intelligence activity under DoD authorities.
  • Make sure all outputs meet ICD and AFOSI standards and are uploaded into the correct databases.
  • Keep current on host-nation intelligence and security bodies, as well as third-country services, transnational threats, and state-sponsored or terrorist organizations that may endanger DAF resources and personnel.
  • Train analysts on CISFP, source management, and collection/production management practices.
  • Review CRs and IIRs and add analyst comments when needed.
  • Distribute raw and finished intelligence to AFOSI leadership, base commanders, operating environment owners, and other CONUS and OCONUS stakeholders.
  • Build detailed analytical products on foreign intelligence and terrorism topics for AFOSI or USAFCENT leadership as requested.
  • Merge intelligence inputs from several sources and classification levels to identify threats, trends, terrorist-cell structures, locations, and attack details such as firing points, impact sites, and timelines.
  • Handle collection management tasks by assessing field reporting tied to terrorist structures and links to other groups or state-sponsored actors targeting DAF/DoD interests.
  • Help develop target packages intended to reduce risks to 24 EFIS, subordinate units, and DAF/DoD people and assets in the USCENTCOM/AFCENT AOR.
  • Prepare briefings describing hostile-group relationships, coordination, and likely impact for leaders and intelligence customers.
  • Build and sustain liaison ties with military and national-level organizations.
  • Ensure all products and briefings comply with security classification rules, dissemination limits, and restrictive caveats.
  • Provide mobile training and advisory support to AFOSI units in the USCENTCOM AOR to improve workflow, intelligence production, and reporting accuracy; this is the primary responsibility of the MTT role.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for strategic engagements such as Defense Threat Assessment Methodology Seminars and Crime Scene Exploitation Programs.
  • Travel frequently, including extended OCONUS assignments when mission requirements demand it, and support both CONUS and OCONUS sites as needed.
  • Keep a valid passport and visa status, remain medically deployable worldwide, and meet other readiness items described in the PWS.
  • Include source citations in all outputs in line with ICON guidance.
  • Follow applicable governing documents and produce error-free work with strong grammar, spelling, and formatting.

Minimum qualifications

  • At least 6 years of all-source analytical experience using HUMINT, SIGINT, IMINT, or OSINT.
  • At least 1 year of detailed analytical support to counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and/or HUMINT operations, with that experience ending within the last 3 years.
  • At least 1 year of analytical or operational experience connected to priority countries under the U.S. Department of Defense National Defense Strategy, including Russia, China, or Iran.
  • At least 6 years of experience producing intelligence analysis products.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a joint or combined intelligence team.
  • Strong briefing and verbal communication skills, especially for collection management, reporting, and requirements work.
  • Hands-on experience within the last 3 years with Microsoft Office tools, Analyst Notebook, SIPR/JWICS access, message handling systems such as M3 or similar tools, SOMM, Proton or equivalent databases, Intellink, CIDNE, CIA WIRE, HOT-R or CHROME, NCTC Online, and the J2 DCP Portal on JWICS.
  • Familiarity with AFOSII2MS and/or CI2MS is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in international affairs, national security studies, Arabic studies, international business, international terrorism, trends and analysis, intelligence/counterintelligence, or another related field is preferred.
  • Regional knowledge of Southwest Asia is preferred.
  • A TS/SCI clearance is required.
