Role overview
Dalata Hotel Group is looking for a Night Porter to support smooth overnight operations at its Cambridge hotel. The role is hands-on and guest-facing, combining front-of-house service, basic porterage, and upkeep of public areas to help maintain a welcoming and safe environment.
You will be trained through Dalata Academy and will work alongside experienced colleagues who can support your development. The company places strong emphasis on internal progression, so this position also offers room to build a longer-term career within the group.
Key duties
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs when needed, and assist with luggage and porterage requests.
- Keep hotel areas clean and presentable, including the lobby, back office, stairways, restaurant floor, bar floor, public spaces, staff areas, and meeting room floors.
- Carry out additional cleaning tasks assigned by the manager on duty and complete the nightly checklist, which may include preparing function rooms and the breakfast area.
- Maintain the front entrance and exterior spaces so they remain tidy at all times, including clearing rubbish and emptying bins.
- Understand and follow the hotel’s fire procedures to help protect staff and guests.
- Assist with setting up meeting rooms.
