Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for creating and refining the mechanical design of Power Package units so they align with customer specifications. This position also includes producing the documentation, instructions, and drawings needed to guide fabrication and assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing-ready designs, including 2D and 3D CAD models for sheet metal parts and weldments.
• Update, revise, and maintain documentation for mechanical assemblies, drawings, and components using CAD tools.
• Identify mechanical design problems and work through effective technical solutions.
• Coordinate with outside engineering partners to evaluate enclosure structural elements.
• Build bills of materials to estimate steel costs and other unit material requirements.
• Partner with teams across the business to ensure products satisfy safety and quality expectations.
• Take on additional related duties as needed.

Required experience and qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering field is required.
• About 1 to 2 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software is preferred.
• Experience with FEA and CFD is considered an advantage.
• Understanding of design methods, tools, and principles used to create technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Ability to interpret P&ID drawings.
• Strong creative problem-solving ability for complex, multidisciplinary design challenges.
• High attention to detail.
• Good time management and self-motivation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Knowledge of sheet metal forming and related capabilities is preferred.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Additional information

This is a full-time onsite position based in Caldwell, Idaho. The role focuses on engineering design, documentation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in support of safe and high-quality product development.
