Meat Associate

Position summary

As a Meat Associate with Walmart Canada, you’ll support day-to-day operations in the meat and deli areas while delivering strong customer service in line with the company’s core values. This role involves keeping the department organized and properly stocked, helping customers with their purchases, and ensuring products are presented and handled to store standards. It can be a good fit for someone interested in retail or customer-facing work.

Key duties

• Keep the department organized and fully zoned.
• Restock products and remove items that have passed expiry.
• Make sure items are correctly signed and priced.
• Follow rules for cold-chain control, thermometer calibration, temperature logs, food safety, stock rotation, sell-by dates, and expiry management.
• Take customer orders for deli items and prepare products such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken.
• Carry out ordering, clearance, markdowns/markups, and all required signage, labeling, and pricing procedures.
• Prepare deli and meat products using equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers, and replenish salads and side dishes for display or special customer requests.
• Follow all health and safety requirements.

Compensation

The minimum hourly pay for this role begins at $18.05.

Minimum qualifications

Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
