Role Overview
The Marketing Coordinator will help plan and deliver marketing campaigns, fan engagement programs, and promotional initiatives that strengthen the Sacramento Kings brand and create standout experiences for fans. This position contributes to a wide mix of work, including youth and fan affinity programs, theme nights, in-arena entertainment, loyalty efforts, and Social Impact & Inclusion marketing activities.
Working alongside the Marketing and Creative teams, as well as partners across the organization, this role plays a key part in turning ideas into well-executed campaigns and memorable moments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with a strong passion for fans and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out marketing initiatives for fan engagement programs such as Kids Club, Jr. Kings, the First Game Program, and Kids Dance Clinics.
- Oversee program messaging, promotional efforts, website updates, and member engagement activities that support participation, retention, and growth.
- Coordinate fan-facing activations, sweepstakes, and promotional programs that improve the overall fan experience.
- Assist with theme night, giveaway, loyalty, and rewards campaigns through project coordination, communications, and execution support.
- Work with the Social Impact & Inclusion team to support marketing and creative needs for community programs and events throughout the year.
- Support the Entertainment team’s initiatives, including the Sacramento Kings Dancers, Slamson, performance teams, theme nights, and other in-arena entertainment.
- Partner with Creative to develop, route, and manage marketing assets while ensuring deadlines are met and brand standards are maintained.
- Write, review, and send game day marketing materials, including attendee emails, promotional reads, and related communications.
- Coordinate with vendors on ordering and fulfillment activities as needed.
- Monitor project schedules, manage communication with stakeholders, and help prepare reporting to assess results and guide future work.
- Take on additional marketing projects and special assignments as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a closely related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of full-time experience in marketing, fan engagement, promotions, or a similar role in professional sports, entertainment, consumer brands, or agency environments.
- Hands-on experience with integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, email, traditional, and out-of-home channels.
- Strong project coordination skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines at once.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, along with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive, well-organized, flexible mindset and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with outside partners.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and game days when required.
Compensation & Benefits
The total offer package includes a base salary of $45,000 to $50,000, along with comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents. Additional benefits include paid time off, 11 paid holidays, Summer Fridays, an employer 401(k) match, a cell phone stipend, Sacramento Kings home game tickets, team store discounts, and other perks.
Other Details
The role is classified as non-exempt and reports to the Director, Marketing within the Marketing department. It is a full-time, onsite position based in Sacramento, CA.
