Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a capable and motivated maintenance technician to join the East Tamaki Depot team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, solving technical issues, and helping keep operations running efficiently.

You will be responsible for servicing and maintaining parcel and letter sorting equipment so it remains reliable, functional, and aligned with operational requirements. The work includes troubleshooting faults as they occur as well as carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance.

What the role involves

• Inspecting, servicing, and maintaining parcel and letter sorting machinery.
• Identifying faults and resolving breakdowns quickly and effectively.
• Completing routine planned maintenance to support equipment reliability.
• Working in a collaborative team environment to keep operations on track.
• Supporting the continued performance of automated parcel processing technology.

About you

You may already be working as a maintenance engineer, electrician, or service technician. You should be comfortable diagnosing problems, working logically under pressure, and restoring equipment to service as efficiently as possible. A positive, adaptable attitude is important, along with a practical approach and a strong commitment to supporting customers and operations.

Role requirements

• New Zealand Electrical Registration or Electrical Service Technician Registration with papers A and B, or a Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience as an electrical or mechanical technician.
• Exposure to control systems or programming is advantageous.

Hours and roster

You must be prepared to work a 4-week rotating roster. This will include day, afternoon, and night shifts, plus a weekend day. Your roster will be shared in advance once shifts are confirmed.
