About the Role
W Hotels is seeking a full-time Lifeguard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable pool or recreation environment for guests. This position sits within the Golf, Fitness, & Entertainment category and is based on-site at the Al Aqeeq Street Financial District location.
What You'll Do
- Watch the swimming area closely and use the right rescue methods when a swimmer needs help.
- Keep an eye out for unsafe conditions, risky behavior, or guests who may be struggling in the water.
- Enforce recreation area rules and help guests understand safety expectations.
- Identify situations where a guest may not be able to participate safely and inform a supervisor or manager.
- Assist injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
- Help create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for guests.
- Collect, fold, and stack towels following company procedures.
- Clean the pool deck by washing and mopping as required.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Follow company procedures, protect confidential information, and safeguard company assets.
- Greet and assist guests professionally, including those with disabilities, while maintaining a clean and polished appearance.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and coworkers, support team members, and uphold quality standards.
- Inspect tools and equipment for defects, respond quickly to work situations, and handle physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting, carrying, moving on slippery or uneven surfaces, and reaching, bending, or climbing as needed.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- No prior related work experience is required.
- No supervisory experience is required.
- Valid CPR certification is required.
- Valid First Aid certification is required.
- Certification or training required by local and state agencies must be obtained as applicable.
- Ability to complete and maintain fitness equipment-related certification or training if required for the role.
- Physically able to remain standing, sitting, or walking for long periods and perform lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and other movement-based tasks as described.
