Role overview
A global hedge fund is expanding its credit investment team in London and is seeking a Junior Portfolio Associate. The role sits close to the centre of the investment function and reports to senior investment leadership. While it does not involve direct investment decision-making, it plays a key part in the full transaction workflow.
What you will do
You will help track collateral performance, assist with rebalancing activity, and make sure portfolio actions remain consistent with investment guidelines. You will also coordinate with teams across the wider CLO platform, serving as a key liaison between portfolio managers, analysts, trading, legal, and operations to keep deal execution running smoothly from start to finish. In addition, the position supports new issuance work, investor reporting, and process improvements across internal workflows.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in a corporate finance setting, preferably gained in a ratings agency, Big 4 transaction services team, corporate finance division, or valuations team. The role calls for someone who is highly detail-focused, commercially aware, and able to work efficiently in a fast-moving, high-standard environment. Strong academic performance, advanced Excel skills, and confidence in coordinating with senior stakeholders are also important.
Why this role
The business offers a collaborative, flat structure with direct access to senior decision-makers from the outset. It is known for very low staff turnover, reflecting a strong culture and clear progression prospects. The position is based in modern offices in central London, with highly competitive pay and benefits.
