Housekeeping Manager - Facility Management

Role overview

The Housekeeping Manager will lead housekeeping operations across the facility, making sure all spaces remain clean, hygienic, safe, and aligned with internal standards as well as client expectations. This position is accountable for team supervision, resource planning, quality monitoring, and maintaining strong client relationships to support high-quality facility services.

Core responsibilities

• Oversee routine housekeeping activities across the assigned premises.
• Direct and support housekeeping supervisors, team leaders, and associates.
• Create and maintain cleaning schedules, standard operating procedures, and quality benchmarks.
• Keep all locations neat, sanitary, and visually presentable at all times.
• Carry out regular site checks and quality audits.
• Track performance using KPIs and service-level agreements.
• Plan staffing requirements, shift rotations, and attendance tracking.
• Maintain sufficient supplies of cleaning chemicals, consumables, tools, and equipment.
• Work with procurement teams to ensure timely restocking of housekeeping materials.
• Train team members on cleaning methods, safety practices, grooming standards, and customer service.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental rules.
• Manage client feedback and resolve complaints promptly.
• Compile daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping reports.
• Control budgets, manage costs, and improve resource usage.
• Coordinate closely with maintenance, security, and other facility functions for smooth operations.
• Ensure waste is properly segregated and disposed of according to environmental requirements.
• Introduce improvement initiatives to raise service quality and productivity.

Qualifications and experience

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Facility Management, or a similar discipline is required.
• Housekeeping or Facility Management certification will be considered an advantage.
• Overall experience of 10 to 15 years in housekeeping or facility management is preferred.
• At least 5 to 8 years should be in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Prior exposure to corporate offices, commercial buildings, hospitals, educational institutions, malls, or industrial facilities is desirable.

Working conditions

• The role involves rotational shifts and may include weekends and holidays when needed.
• Regular movement across different areas of the facility is expected.
• You may be responsible for overseeing more than one site.
