Role overview
The Housekeeping team member helps create a strong first impression by keeping guest spaces clean, fresh, and ready for occupancy. This position is based in Morgantown, WV and is available as both full-time and part-time, with an onsite work setup.
Key duties
- Clean and prepare assigned guest rooms and other areas according to hotel standards and set procedures.
- Complete routine tasks such as making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms.
- Remove trash and rubbish, and carry out additional cleaning tasks as needed.
- May also be responsible for cleaning kitchen-related items and surfaces, including the refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, cups, glasses, and silverware.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests in a professional manner.
- Tell the supervisor when a room is ready so it can be assigned to a guest.
- Escalate rooms that cannot be serviced, following established procedures.
- Report repair needs, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Follow safety practices at all times and immediately report any health or safety incidents, security concerns, or suspicious activity to the supervisor or manager on duty.
- Handle guest complaints and special requests in a way that supports guest satisfaction.
- Track and manage supplies and amenities carefully to reduce waste.
- Record, turn in, or log any lost and found items according to hotel procedure.
Work requirements
This role requires open availability and weekend work.
Safety and compliance
- Use protective safety equipment provided in accordance with department rules and any local legal requirements.
- Store and handle cleaning chemicals according to hotel policies and applicable local regulations.
