The company is hiring a House Attendant to support housekeeping operations in Saraland, Alabama. This role focuses on keeping guest floors and common areas clean and orderly, with possible support for fitness center and meeting room upkeep, room attendants, laundry tasks, and related housekeeping needs. The House Attendant reports to the Director/Manager of Housekeeping, Operations Managers, or the General Manager.

Essential functions
- Keep hallways, lobbies, corridors, elevators, and stairways clean by vacuuming and other routine cleaning methods.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using manual tools and powered equipment.
- Clean carpets, rugs, upholstered furnishings, and draperies with a vacuum.
- Dust furniture and equipment, and polish metal fixtures and fittings.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Maintain cleanliness in public areas, including restrooms.
- Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays and move trash to the disposal area.
- Restock room attendant carts with linens and guestroom supplies.
- Remove soiled linens, carry them to the laundry area, and return clean linens to the floors.
- Fold towels, sheets, and other linens as needed.
- Keep linen closets and storage areas stocked, organized, and clean.
- Help room attendants with heavy lifting and furniture or equipment movement in guest rooms when needed.
- Support pool maintenance and cleaning if the property has a pool.
- Use issued supplies carefully and responsibly.
- Greet guests warmly, respond politely, and use guest names when entering occupied rooms.
- Know the hotel’s in-house offerings and local area information to help guests when needed.
- Restock carts promptly and respond to housekeeping supply requests within 10 minutes.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Job knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Read, write, speak, and understand basic English to communicate with team members and guests.
- Follow simple instructions and work comfortably in standardized situations.
- Deliver strong guest service.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Be available for flexible shifts and holidays.
Physical requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing are required.
- Regular use of hands for handling tools and controls, along with speaking and hearing, is needed.
- Lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Push carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Use close, distance, and color vision effectively.
- Work in mentally and physically demanding situations.
- Be able to work safely with cleaning chemicals.
Qualifications
- A professional and energetic attitude is expected.
- High school education or an equivalent background is preferred.
- Housekeeping experience or related training of 4 to 6 months is preferred but not mandatory.
