Role overview
An established Irish business with strong recent growth is expanding further through both organic development and acquisitions. With operations across several international markets and ambitious transformation plans, this is a role in a company where progression can move in step with the business.
Due to an internal promotion, the company is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join its Group Finance function in West Dublin. The position offers hybrid working, with three days each week in the office.
What you will be doing
- Owning group-level external reporting, including the preparation of annual and interim financial statements in line with IFRS and applicable regulatory standards.
- Coordinating the group audit cycle and supervising statutory reporting obligations across multiple subsidiary entities.
- Taking responsibility for the month-end close timetable and the production of consolidated management reports.
- Improving balance sheet governance, reporting quality and financial control standards across the group.
- Leading initiatives to enhance reporting workflows, systems and internal controls, with emphasis on consistency and automation.
- Supporting mergers and acquisitions work, including due diligence, acquisition accounting and post-transaction integration.
- Working closely with senior finance leaders and business stakeholders across different teams.
What the company is looking for
- A qualified accountant, preferably with experience gained in a Big 4 or Top 6 practice environment, ideally with industry-facing clients.
- Solid technical accounting expertise covering IFRS, consolidation, statutory reporting and financial controls.
- Proven experience handling external audits and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Previous exposure to M&A and acquisition accounting would be an advantage.
