Role PurposeThe Global Managing Director - Consumer will be instrumental in shaping the future trajectory of the Consumer division. This involves integrating product innovation, brand strategy, digital and direct-to-consumer expansion, and high-performance sales execution into a cohesive operational framework. The role is tasked with converting market demand into sustainable, scalable revenue streams while simultaneously fortifying market standing across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.
Key ResponsibilitiesGlobal Strategy and P&L Leadership
You will assume full global Profit & Loss accountability for the Consumer business, driving sustainable revenue growth, enhancing profit margins, and expanding market share. This includes defining and implementing a multi-year transformation strategy encompassing publishing, software, and consumer technology solutions, alongside strategic prioritization of investments, resource allocation, and portfolio optimization across various markets and product lines.
Product, Technology and Innovation
Lead the entire product lifecycle for content, digital platforms, and consumer technology solutions. You will be responsible for redesigning new product development processes to accelerate innovation, improve cross-functional collaboration, and increase the success rate of product launches. A key aspect will be monetizing intellectual property through innovative formats, licensing models, and engaging digital experiences.
DTC and Omni-Channel Growth
Develop and scale owned Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) channels to become the primary revenue generators globally. You will optimize the complete customer journey, encompassing acquisition, conversion, fulfillment, retention, and maximizing lifetime value. The role requires integrating digital, retail, and partner channels into a seamless omni-channel ecosystem.
Brand Development and Market Positioning
Spearhead global brand strategy, premium repositioning initiatives, and integrated go-to-market execution for significant product launches. You will align storytelling, content, digital marketing, retail strategies, and performance marketing into a repeatable and scalable model, ensuring that brand demand translates into tangible commercial achievements.
Commercial Excellence and Sales Transformation
Elevate the performance of the global sales organization by implementing value-led sales methodologies, improving forecasting precision, and maintaining disciplined pipeline management. You will introduce operational rhythms designed to enhance decision-making, accountability, and execution effectiveness. This includes driving joint business planning with retail, platform, and ecosystem partners to maximize revenue opportunities.
Global Market Expansion
Lead the international expansion of consumer products and DTC platforms into new geographical regions. This involves adapting offerings to suit local market dynamics while upholding global brand consistency and operational standards. You will be responsible for building and managing high-performing regional leadership teams across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.
Organisational Leadership and Culture
Cultivate a high-performance, cross-functional global organization characterized by clear accountability and minimized inter-departmental handoffs. Foster a culture that prioritizes customer centricity, innovation, and operational excellence. You will translate strategic objectives into practical systems, processes, and behaviors that teams can consistently execute.
Success MeasuresSuccess in this role will be evaluated based on revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion across all regions; an increased contribution of DTC to total revenue; improved customer lifetime value; successful execution of major product launches and brand repositioning programs; enhanced sales forecasting accuracy and pipeline health; strong performance within the partner ecosystem; improved operational efficiency; and high levels of employee engagement and leadership effectiveness.
