Role Overview
Formative Minds is a fast-growing education technology enrichment centre in Singapore, dedicated to helping Primary school students improve in Mathematics. The organisation blends a research-backed, Ministry of Education-aligned curriculum with learning analytics to drive strong student outcomes and also focuses on developing educators into future leaders.
What the Role Offers
- Monthly pay of $4,000 to $6,000, with discretionary performance bonuses.
- A defined growth path through the Management Associate Track for outstanding performers.
- A steady 5-day working arrangement that includes one weekend day.
- Opportunity to work with a data-led curriculum supported by a proprietary analytics platform.
Work Location
The position is primarily based at the tuition centres in Central Singapore (Novena) or the East (Marine Parade), with occasional support across other branches when needed.
Key Duties
- Teach Primary Math classes in line with the company curriculum, delivering around 10 to 12 lessons each week, with each class lasting 2 hours.
- Capture quiz outcomes and use the internal analytics system to track and review student learning progress.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and parents, including sharing updates on progress and performance.
- Contribute ideas and assistance for curriculum planning, refinement, and enhancement.
- Handle required administrative work, step in for colleagues when necessary, and participate actively in team discussions.
- Follow a 5-day schedule that includes teaching on at least one weekend day.
Training and Career Progression
New team members will begin with a structured traineeship focused on developing strong classroom skills, subject mastery, and the ability to use student data effectively. Training includes curriculum mastery, teaching methodology, classroom management, and practical coaching on how to deliver engaging lessons.
High-performing teaching staff may be invited to join the Management Associate Programme, which adds management exposure, broader responsibilities, and projects that prepare them for leadership and business-facing roles.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is a motivated, resilient self-starter who enjoys working with children and has a strong sense of responsibility. Success in this role also requires clear communication, comfort in dealing with parents, and a willingness to adopt technology and data tools in teaching.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is required, with graduates from local universities such as NUS, NTU, SMU, or SUTD preferred. Candidates should be familiar with Singapore's Primary-level Math curriculum and have prior teaching or tutoring experience, preferably for at least 2 years.
Benefits
- Competitive remuneration of $4,000 to $6,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Discretionary bonuses tied to performance.
- 5-day work week consisting of 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day.
- 10 days of annual leave.
- Two weeks of paid break during the scheduled centre closure period.
- Structured mentorship and learning on the job.
- Direct access to the founders of Formative Minds.
