Role summary
This position supports a school- and community-based diabetes awareness programme delivered across government schools in Uttar Pradesh and nearby project districts. The work involves hands-on field delivery, training support, community mobilisation, record keeping, and reporting.
About the organisation and programme
The hiring organisation is a non-profit working in healthcare, inclusion, and research. It delivers prevention, care, support, and treatment services, with a strong focus on people affected by HIV and other infectious diseases. In collaboration with Sanofi, it is implementing the KiDS (Kids and Diabetes in Schools) initiative for students aged 10–15 years in government schools across Uttar Pradesh. The programme uses a locally adapted KiDS manual, with endocrinologists acting as master trainers.
The first two phases, launched in 2024, have already produced measurable outcomes. The current phase expands work across 17 districts in Uttar Pradesh, including aspirational districts and locations that need refresher training.

- Help trained teachers run diabetes awareness activities for students.
- Plan and carry out parent-teacher meetings in project schools.

- Support programme reporting by providing field data and inputs in coordination with the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer.
- Maintain complete documentation for referrals to health facilities, forms, and other related records.
- Spend around 20 days each month travelling for field work; travel and logistics support will be provided by the project.
Requirements
- A postgraduate qualification in Home Science, Nutrition, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in district-level work within development, health, education, or nutrition programmes.
- Practical familiarity with the education department system in Uttar Pradesh.
