Role overview
This role serves as a high-level administrative partner to a senior leader or business unit director. It supports leadership operations, coordinates communication across teams and stakeholders, and helps keep executive priorities moving smoothly.
Core responsibilities
The position covers a wide mix of executive support tasks, including travel coordination, calendar ownership, meeting and event planning, correspondence drafting, expense processing, and budget support. It also involves tracking and reporting key information for senior management, improving internal processes, and providing guidance on policies and procedures.
The assistant will represent the supervisor in communications, work closely with board members and internal teams, and manage board-related meetings, events, and liaison duties. The role may also include training support, documentation development, and other work that strengthens team systems and tools.

The job requires the ability to work independently, prioritize without detailed instruction, and use sound judgment to solve problems. Work may be varied and not always covered by standard procedures. Decisions can affect the organization financially or legally, so accuracy and discretion are essential.
Requirements and qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Candidates should also have experience preparing reports, analyzing data, managing a senior leader’s schedule and contacts, working with databases, and collaborating across departments.

Helpful background includes multilingual ability, cross-cultural experience, comfort with complex processes, strong use of technology, diplomacy, project coordination, interpreting guidelines, supervising others, and a track record of supporting strategic goals.
Additional conditions
This position can be based in Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama, and may require travel as well as flexible working hours. A valid driver’s license is required along with compliance with the organization’s Auto Safety Program. Employees who are considered high-risk drivers may not operate Conservancy-owned or leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles for work purposes. Employment is contingent on completing a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the candidate’s motor vehicle record.
Compensation and benefits
The typical starting salary range for this role in the USA is $61,000 to $76,000 per year, with the final offer depending on location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
