Profile and qualifications

The role calls for a bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related subject. Strong command of English is essential, with C2 or native-level ability preferred and at least C1 required. Knowledge of another language at professional level is a plus.

You should be confident in grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and style editing across different tones and formats. The work also requires sharp attention to detail, especially for identifying subtle meaning shifts, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and other errors, and for explaining corrections clearly in writing.

Experience with style guides, consistent terminology, punctuation, capitalization, and tone is important. You also need to be dependable, self-managed, and comfortable working as an hourly remote contractor across time zones. Prior exposure to AI data annotation, model evaluation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is preferred. Practical use of tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar platforms is also expected.

Key responsibilities

• Create well-structured prompts and sample responses across different topics to support AI training.
• Review and score AI outputs to improve correctness, fluency, and relevance to context.
• Check models for errors, inconsistencies, and possible bias so their results stay dependable across use cases.
