Role Overview

Delivery Hero is looking for a Director, Internal Communications to join the People & Culture team. In this role, you will shape the company’s internal communication strategy, own the overall narrative and governance framework, and help strengthen clarity, alignment, and engagement across the business.

Reporting to the Senior Director, People & Culture, this is a senior leadership position for someone who can both guide a function strategically and step into hands-on execution when needed. The role combines team leadership, executive advisory, and high-stakes communication work.

What You Will Do

• Set and lead the internal communications strategy and message architecture so it stays closely tied to Delivery Hero’s top business priorities.
• Advise senior leaders on internal messaging, organisational change, and crisis communication, while also preparing executive-ready communications and manager toolkits.
• Manage, coach, and grow the internal communications team, improving workflows, operating practices, and day-to-day effectiveness.
• Own major company-wide communication moments such as All Hands, strategic business updates, people-related communications, and transformation announcements.
• Build and maintain communication standards, governance, and channel approaches across tools such as Slack and All Hands to keep messages consistent and transparent.
• Work closely with External Communications, Employer Branding, HR, and Legal to align internal messaging with the company’s broader external brand and employee experience.
• Define and track performance measures to assess how well internal channels and campaigns are working, then use the insights to improve them.

What We Are Looking For

You should bring extensive experience in corporate communications, with a strong focus on internal communications in fast-moving, global, or highly scaled environments. The ideal person is confident operating as the leader of a function, making independent operational decisions, refining processes, and developing team members.

We are looking for someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution, and who can produce clear, compelling, and culturally aware communications for a diverse international workforce. You should also be able to write and edit sensitive leadership communication quickly and with confidence.

Strong executive presence is important, along with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, coordinate across HR, Legal, and PR-type partners, and remain composed in demanding situations. Excellent organisation and the ability to manage several high-visibility projects at once are also essential. Native-level or fully fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication skills, is required.

Additional Information

This position follows a hybrid working model, with team members expected to work from the Berlin campus two days per week. Delivery Hero also offers 27 days of holiday, plus an extra day in the second and third year of service.
