About INTERPOL
INTERPOL is the largest international policing organization in the world, bringing together 196 member countries. Established in 1923, it enables police cooperation across borders and helps authorities and services that work to prevent or fight international crime.
INTERPOL welcomes applications from women and from nationals of member countries that are currently underrepresented in its workforce. Selection is based on merit, with hiring decisions made according to qualifications and organizational needs.
Role overview
This position reports to the Assistant Director of the INTERPOL Global Academy and is based in Singapore. It is a fixed-term contract for 36 months at Grade 4, with one position available. The role is subject to basic security screening.
The post holder will coordinate the planning, creation, organization, storage, upkeep and ongoing improvement of digital training products used within the Virtual Academy Portal and associated digital learning platforms. The aim is to build a training repository that is accessible, scalable, sustainable and aligned with member countries’ training requirements.
Principal duties
The coordinator will lead the development and administration of the Virtual Academy’s digital learning repository, making sure it remains easy to access, sustainable and compliant with INTERPOL’s quality, IT security and legal standards.
They will manage the day-to-day organization and maintenance of law enforcement learning content on CBT platforms by working with the Digital Learning Solutions Unit, subject matter experts and content creators to upload, refresh and curate materials.
The role also involves making sure content is correctly tagged, categorized and available to the intended law enforcement audience, while remaining aligned with INTERPOL Training Standards and quality expectations. Platform reliability is also part of the job, including monitoring performance, fixing issues, reducing downtime and coordinating with internal IT teams or external vendors on technical problems and system improvements.
Another key area is user support. The coordinator will handle queries and problems linked to the digital training products they oversee, prepare guidance materials such as user manuals, FAQs and best-practice notes, and ensure the unit provides first-line troubleshooting during course delivery. They will also help users access digital learning resources through secure websites, mobile devices and apps.
Analytics, evaluation and reporting are also central to the role. The post holder will use analytics tools to follow functionality, learner engagement and product performance, create KPI and training reports for internal stakeholders, and identify improvement areas from data trends. They will support evaluation processes for digital training and work with the Quality Assurance and Evaluation Unit to review findings and recommend enhancements for future initiatives.
In addition, the coordinator will support outreach and partnerships by advising member countries on digital training technologies and good practices, and by maintaining working relationships with police academies, international organizations and other external partners in the digital learning space.
The role includes team leadership and responsibility for making sure unit performance, the Sub-directorate objectives, the Annual Business Plan and the Unit Working Plan are delivered. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Conditions and contract terms
Only professional experience that can be formally documented will be counted. Candidates may be asked to provide supporting employment evidence before interviews or assessments.
Any extension beyond the initial contract will depend on the Organization’s Staff Manual, satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Interviews and tests are expected to be held around three weeks after the application deadline, so shortlisted candidates should keep that period available.
The successful candidate is expected to join approximately two to three months after accepting the offer, at the latest.
This selection process may also create a reserve list for future similar staffing needs.
The Organization notes that, under Staff Manual Regulation 11.4 on age limit, officials are normally not retained beyond age 65. If a selected candidate reaches 65 during the appointment period, the actual employment term may be shortened and may not run for the full contract duration.
Education and qualifications
A university degree of at least three to four years is required, preferably in education, digital training or a related area.
A certification in digital training management, digital learning development or e-learning development tools is also required.
Completion of advanced police training programmes is considered an advantage.
Experience and language requirements
The role requires at least five years of experience in digital training development and related project management.
Candidates should be capable of organizing and delivering complex work with minimal supervision.
Experience in an international setting is highly desirable, whether through employment in an international organization or involvement in international working groups or joint projects.
Experience in identifying training needs and designing or delivering training programmes, ideally operational training, is required. Knowledge of strategic policing issues and communication needs will be regarded as an asset.
Professional fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic, French or Spanish will be considered an asset.
Key abilities
Successful candidates should have strong IT capability, including advanced authoring and development tools for digital training products.
They should bring initiative, the ability to turn ideas into practical action, and strong interpersonal skills to gain cooperation across the organization.
Professional maturity, clear communication, adaptability in international and multidisciplinary settings, and the ability to perform under pressure are important.
The role also calls for independence and teamwork, including collaboration in cross-cultural environments, along with creativity, curiosity, the ability to summarize complex information, discretion, diplomacy, tact, objectivity, logical thinking, attention to detail and good listening skills.
