Role overview
EssilorLuxottica is looking for a Digital Designer (Motion) to join its in-house Creative Hub in London. This role sits within a fast-paced production environment and focuses on turning campaign and brand briefs into polished digital assets ready for use across multiple channels and markets. The position is centered on motion design and animation, with responsibility for supporting a broad portfolio of brands across the Contact Lens Hub and Value Eyewear businesses.
The business is part of a global eyewear leader operating across lenses, frames, sunglasses, prescription eyewear, and contact lenses. The team works across digital design and content, partnering closely with brand, business, tech, and CRM stakeholders. AI is already built into the way the team works, and the role calls for someone comfortable using it as part of day-to-day production.
What you will do
- Turn campaign briefs and art direction into polished, channel-ready creative assets for web, CRM, organic social, paid social, and print.
- Adapt creative work for multiple brands, making sure each output reflects the right visual identity and audience.
- Localise and transcreate assets for different EMEA markets while protecting the strength and consistency of the original creative idea.
- Handle both campaign-led work and business-as-usual production, keeping pace with changing priorities.
- Take ownership of animation and motion graphics delivery across the team as the main motion specialist for this position.
- Create motion-led assets such as looping GIFs, animated display ads, social motion pieces, and web animations.
- Bring static concepts to life through motion and partner with the Senior Creative Lead on how animation should reinforce brand storytelling.
- Build reusable motion templates that help the team work faster while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Keep developing your knowledge of motion tools and techniques and share that expertise with colleagues.
- Use AI tools for generation, image editing, adaptation, and ideation as part of the production workflow.
- Test new tools, document useful approaches, and contribute learnings back to the team.
- Work closely with content, CRM, and brand teams to ensure creative output works effectively across channels.
- Partner with the Senior Creative Lead and Creative Team Manager during briefing, review, and sign-off.
- Organise your own workload through project management tools and stay transparent about capacity and priorities.
- Ensure all work is responsive, accessible, and aligned with brand standards.
- Maintain strong craft and consistency even when working at pace or handling large volumes.
- Use data and performance insight to guide creative decisions where appropriate.
What they are looking for
- Proven digital design experience in an e-commerce, agency, or in-house creative setting.
- A strong portfolio showing multi-channel digital design across web, CRM, and social formats.
- Advanced use of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator, with After Effects required.
- Confident use of Figma for design and handoff.
- Demonstrated motion design and animation experience, including GIFs, looping social assets, display ads, and motion graphics.
- Practical experience using AI tools within a production workflow, not just theoretical knowledge.
- Ability to manage work across several brands at the same time and adapt outputs to different identities and markets.
- Strong self-organisation and time management in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
Preferred background
- Experience in fashion, eyewear, health, or direct-to-consumer e-commerce.
- Working knowledge of HTML5 or CSS animation for web use.
- Exposure to AI motion or video tools such as Runway or Kling.
- Understanding of performance marketing creative needs across Meta, Google, and programmatic channels.
- Awareness of accessibility and responsive design principles.
How the role works
This is a delivery-focused position. You will be given clear briefs and strong creative direction, and the expectation is that you will execute to a very high standard. The role suits someone who takes pride in output, owns their workload, and can operate independently without close supervision.
Curiosity is also important. The team expects AI to be part of the working method, so the ideal candidate will see changing workflows as an opportunity rather than a limitation. You will also be expected to contribute knowledge generously, especially in motion and animation, where you can help raise the capability of the wider team.
Benefits
- 33 days of holiday on a pro rata basis, including bank holidays.
- Pension contribution matching up to 5%.
- Share Investment Plan with EssilorLuxottica.
- Healthshield cash plan.
- Life assurance equal to five times salary.
- Retail Trust support.
- Colleague eyecare policy with free glasses or contact lenses, plus staff discount.
Diversity and inclusion
EssilorLuxottica says it is committed to an inclusive workplace where everyone is treated fairly and given equal opportunity, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics.
