Role overview
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of being extended. The role sits within DEPT®’s Global Studios team, where the focus is on producing emotionally engaging, performance-led ideas, products, and campaigns at speed and scale. The team specialises in highly personalised digital communications that help shift perceptions, influence behaviour, and improve market share for clients.

What the role involves
As a Designer, you will create compelling visual work that sparks interaction between people and brands. You will collaborate with strategists, designers, and copywriters to produce effective designs that respond to client briefs and meet DEPT®’s design standards.
- Take ownership of projects from initial brief through to final delivery.
- Bring fresh ideas and creative thinking to briefing sessions.
- Produce polished, high-quality design outputs.
- Source imagery and carry out digital artwork production.
- Develop rich visual assets for owned channels such as web, app, and email.
- Ensure all creative work supports client business objectives.
- Keep up to date with current design and marketing trends.
- Use feedback constructively to improve your craft.
- Support and mentor more junior colleagues when needed.
- Take responsibility for accurate, flawless design delivery.
- Meet deadlines and deliver within agreed timelines.
- Create simple animations for digital assets.
What you should bring
- Hands-on digital design experience using industry-standard tools such as Figma.
- A self-starting, practical approach to problem-solving and delivery.
- Strong layout instincts, with solid typography and retouching ability.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support the wider team.
- Excellent organisation and close attention to detail.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new skills and taking on new challenges.
- Motion design and 3D experience would be an advantage.
Working arrangement and additional details
This position is based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and follows an onsite contract arrangement. DEPT® also offers a flexible hybrid working policy, allowing people to enjoy a mix of in-office and remote working where applicable.
