With continued expansion in both retail and e-commerce, the company is hiring a proactive professional to join the team.
Role Overview
The Design Consultant will support customers through the full order journey, answering questions about order progress, shipping, product details, damages, and returns. The role also includes coordinating pickups, transportation, and deliveries for orders placed online and in the showroom. Success in this position requires strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle varied responsibilities while supporting the sales manager and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer communication by email, phone, and face-to-face at every stage of the sales process, from initial research through final delivery.
- Develop custom design presentations using preferred design software, including mood boards, 2D layouts, 3D visuals, product selections, and style direction for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
- Conduct one-on-one design consultations in person, virtually, by phone, or by email.
- Complete projects on schedule and within agreed timelines.
- Prepare sales invoices in line with current company policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve concerns related to customer orders.
- Coordinate with suppliers on stock availability and shipping delays, and share accurate updates with customers and internal teams.
- Process online orders digitally.
- Route technical product questions to the in-house lighting specialists.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the full product and brand range, along with current design trends.
- Work with the Purchasing Team on purchase order status reports and related requests.
- Take part in inventory control, order handling, and goods receiving.
- Support the manager by helping complete operational tasks and procedures successfully.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant has at least one year of retail or customer service experience. Comfort with Google tools, virtual communication, and design software is preferred. Familiarity with MS Office, Excel, multiple browsers, and the ability to learn new systems quickly is important. Experience in high-end retail or e-commerce is a strong advantage, as is exposure to interior design software. Lighting or design experience is beneficial. The company is looking for someone who is self-motivated, quick to learn, resourceful, and able to manage multiple details at the same time.
