Role overview
Bunnings is seeking a Department Manager in Geraldton to oversee the day-to-day running of a specialist department, with a focus on sales performance, stock control, customer experience, and team leadership. You will partner with other department managers and report to the Operations Manager and Complex Manager. The role is suited to someone who can lead a team of 20+ people, keep operations running smoothly, and maintain a strong focus on service, safety, and retail standards.
This position requires working a rotating roster that includes at least one in three weekends, along with some public holiday shifts. Duties also include opening and closing the store on weekdays and weekends.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily department operations, sales activity, and high-volume stock movement within the assigned area.
- Lead and motivate a team of more than 20 team members while maintaining a safe, engaged, and productive workplace.
- Carry out duty manager duties, including store opening and closing across weekdays and weekends.
- Develop team capability through coaching, clear expectations, performance discussions, engagement, and recognition.
- Plan rosters and coordinate work to ensure the service promise is delivered consistently.
- Improve department sales through effective merchandising and monitoring of key performance indicators.
- Respond to customer feedback and use it to strengthen the full customer journey.
- Maintain stock accuracy through replenishment discipline, adjustments, and loss prevention practices.
- Work with merchandising, store leadership, health and safety, and supplier partners to support department performance.
- Monitor customer service standards and ensure the department reflects wide product range and competitive pricing.

Candidate profile
