Delivery Driver / Shift Leader

Role overview

Canna Cabana is looking for a dependable Cannabis Delivery Driver / Retail Shift Leader for its Okotoks, Alberta location. This position combines two key functions: delivering cannabis products to customers in the community and supporting in-store operations as a shift leader. The ideal person is customer-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to working in compliance with applicable rules and company standards.

Retail shift leader duties

• Support store leadership in managing day-to-day store activity.
• Take charge of store operations when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is not available.
• Help manage staff during the shift and address customer service concerns as they come up.
• Give guidance and direction to team members when needed.
• Keep the store environment aligned with company standards.
• Act as the lead example for sales and service when management is off shift.
• Welcome customers and model professional, helpful conduct for the team.
• Make sure company policies and all relevant laws are followed.
• Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Maintain health, safety, and security standards throughout the shift.
• Work toward sales goals and store KPIs.
• Encourage employees on shift to stay focused on sales targets.
• Assist with inventory processes and take responsibility for inventory handling during the shift.

Cannabis delivery driver duties

• Deliver cannabis orders promptly and safely, aiming for delivery within 45 minutes of order placement.
• Keep the delivery vehicle clean and organized.
• Check customer identification before completing a delivery.
• Follow assigned routes, transport rules, and safety procedures.
• Use delivery applications and stay in contact with customers as needed.
• Handle cash floats and collect payments when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements

• High school completion plus college, CEGEP, or vocational/technical training is required.
• A valid driver’s licence and strong safe-driving skills are required.
• A current clean driving abstract must be provided, with no violations in the last three years and no major violations at any time.
• At least 2 years of retail work experience is required; experience in the cannabis industry is preferred.
• Three years of verifiable driving experience is preferred for insurance eligibility.
• Valid and current SellSafe certification is mandatory for work in an Alberta cannabis retail store.
• First Aid certification is considered an asset.
• Defensive driving training is considered an asset.
• A working smartphone with a data plan and charger is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.
• Familiarity with local streets, neighbourhoods, and routes is important.
• The role requires a high level of responsibility, dependability, and reliability.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, on-call shifts, and flexible 6–10-hour shifts is required.
• Applicants should have strong customer service, sales, and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfort working under pressure in a busy environment is essential.
• Strong organization, prioritization, multitasking, and time-management skills are needed.
• A strong sense of integrity, professionalism, and mature judgment is expected.

Employment details
