The role combines deep analytical thinking, product sense, and technical expertise to uncover insights from one of the largest data environments in the world and use those insights to improve experiences for people and businesses at massive scale.
You will work closely with partners across Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and other teams to tackle important product and business questions. Your work will help guide product strategy, investment choices, and roadmap priorities through data-backed recommendations and measurable outcomes.
Meta also emphasizes growth through a strong analytics community, offering a setting where you can continue building technical depth, influence, and long-term career development.
What you will do
- Use analytical and statistical techniques to work through large, complex datasets and address difficult product questions.
- Apply experimentation, quantitative analysis, data mining, and clear data presentation to support product strategy for products used at global scale.
- Track product success by setting goals, forecasting outcomes, and monitoring core metrics to spot trends and changes in performance.
- Identify high-impact opportunities and areas for improvement, then translate findings into roadmap guidance and practical recommendations.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional partners to shape and execute product and investment decisions.
Minimum qualifications
Candidates should have, or be in the process of completing, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, Mathematics, Statistics, or an equivalent practical background. The degree must be finished before joining Meta.
Applicants should bring at least 2 years of experience using analytics tools and data querying or scripting languages such as SQL, Python, or R, along with 2 years of experience solving analytical problems through quantitative methods. Experience should include understanding user behavior, product ecosystems, long-term trends, and leading data-driven projects from problem definition through execution, including metrics design, experiment planning, and communicating actionable insights.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.
- Experience using AI tools to improve or redesign workflows with measurable gains in efficiency or quality.
- Familiarity with responsible and ethical AI practices, including bias reduction, risk review, and checks for accuracy and quality.
- Ongoing development of AI-related skills such as prompt design, context engineering, agent coordination, and keeping up with emerging AI technologies.
