Role overview

In this contract position, the Data Analyst will gather, assess, and interpret complex datasets to support better business decisions and the delivery of change initiatives. The role draws on prior experience in analysis, reporting, and insight generation to help clients spot patterns, improve performance, and progress strategic goals throughout the contract period.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, interpret, and analyse data from multiple sources to produce practical recommendations.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations that support operational, strategic, and project decisions.
  • Use a structured and creative approach to solve problems and identify trends, opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Assess business performance measures and KPIs, then suggest realistic actions for improvement.
  • Produce analytical reports by consolidating data, trends, and performance information.
  • Carry out and coordinate analysis across financial, operational, customer, market, and related datasets.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and work closely with business, operations, and finance teams.
  • Lead data gathering, validation, documentation, and presentation of findings to different management levels.
  • Support data quality initiatives through cleansing, validation, governance, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and data management, including work with complex stakeholder groups.
  • Background in fast-moving, high-pressure, enterprise-scale environments with a record of delivering to deadlines.
  • Successful delivery of data analysis and reporting workstreams on large-scale projects.
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data to create useful business insights.
  • Strong report writing ability and excellent analytical thinking.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills are preferred.
  • Previous experience working as an independent contractor.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
