Role Overview
The Credit Manager will be responsible for handling risk and credit operations for assigned transactions, ensuring that underwriting decisions, portfolio quality, and control processes follow the required policies and business frameworks. The role also requires close coordination with internal teams and external vendors to support timely, accurate, and compliant credit processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out risk and credit operations for routine cases allocated to the role, following the prescribed policies and operating principles across ABHFL business lines.
- Take proactive support from senior team members and use technical as well as state/property-specific inputs to assess individual cases more effectively.
- Coordinate with legal, technical, and other verification vendors for legal-technical checks and clarifications in complex cases when needed.
- Track bounce rates and keep them within the defined threshold levels.
- Work in a way that supports business performance while still meeting risk management requirements.
- Coordinate with Credit Processing Analysts to ensure files are properly logged before initiating credit operations.
- Follow process-based coordination with Sales and Operations teams to support decisions and problem solving; escalate matters to the RCM when required.
- Manage external vendors effectively so that report quality and turnaround time remain strong.
- Keep costs under control and within approved budget limits.
- Enter data accurately in the LOS and maintain documentation quality at a high standard.
- Ensure post-disbursal documents are collected within the assigned timeline.
- Prepare periodic and need-based MIS, reports, escalation documents, and similar compliance-related records.
- Carry out local risk operations through the maker-checker framework, covering exception approvals, collateral valuation, PDD completion, cheque bounce collections, and related activities.
- Minimize critical audit observations and close any findings within the specified turnaround time.
- Work with Collections and Operations teams to monitor delinquency cases and support efficient recovery actions.
- Escalate complex or special cases to the RCM to help avoid recovery issues and NPA build-up.
- Monitor delinquent portfolios and coordinate with key delinquent customers while supporting the collections team in case resolution.
- Report fraud cases to the Risk Monitoring team and the Regional/Zonal Risk Head.
- Build stronger technical skills and role understanding to improve underwriting and risk assessment quality.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth handling of complex, exception, and escalation cases.
