About the Role
Runna is building a leading training platform for runners, designed to help everyday people improve at any distance, from a faster 5K to a first marathon. The company is growing quickly, has secured major funding, was named a global finalist for iPhone app of the year in 2024, and was acquired by Strava in 2025. This is an exciting time to join a mission-driven team that wants to make a lasting impact in the running world.
What You’ll Do
You will lead the planning, production, filming, and editing of a wide variety of video content that brings the Runna brand to life. The role spans podcast production, race and event coverage, social media content, in-app assets, live event broadcasts, and collaboration with ambassadors and coaches. Along with hands-on production, you will also own creative briefs and help maintain a consistent, high-quality standard across all content.
- Produce weekly podcast episodes from end to end, including planning, guest preparation, filming, editing, and post-production refinement.
- Set up the technical side of live broadcasts and, when needed, direct event streaming for races and special Runna occasions.
- Attend races and events with the team and take responsibility for capturing the key moments of the day.
- Create coaching-led reels and training-focused content with the coaching team.
- Work with ambassadors to deliver standout social content during shoot days and ambassador events.
- Take ownership of creative briefs and actively improve storytelling quality across all platforms.
Core Work Style
You should be comfortable telling engaging stories through purposeful editing, clear direction, and strong pacing. The role also calls for someone who can simplify complex ideas, handle podcast production from guest prep to audience experience, and manage both pre-recorded and live technical needs. You’ll need a sharp eye for composition, strong organisational habits, and the ability to keep multiple projects moving at once while properly tagging and storing content. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work closely with coaches, ambassadors, guests, and wider team members. Creativity, initiative, and an interest in improving visual output will be important.
Work Pattern and Flexibility
A large part of this job involves covering events and races, so you should be happy to travel and adapt your schedule to evenings and weekends when needed. This may mean starting later on certain days or taking a weekday off in place of a weekend day. Travel and hotel arrangements will be handled when required.
Experience and Application Expectations
The company is less focused on total years worked and more interested in whether this role feels like a natural fit for you. That said, you should have clear experience creating video content, ideally in a sports environment, and podcast production experience is especially valued. As part of the hiring process, you will need to share a portfolio of video work and, ideally, a podcast episode or series that demonstrates relevant experience.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience producing and editing podcasts.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates high-quality video production.
- Good project management skills and a well-organised working style.
- Experience using audio production tools such as Adobe Audition, Descript, or similar software.
- Confidence with video editing software and production equipment.
- Experience handling technical setups for live events or broadcasts, which is beneficial though not required.
- Strong instincts for identifying compelling moments and capturing them independently.
- Attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Excellent spoken communication skills, with the ability to brief and debrief guests and team members clearly.
- Ability to manage several fast-moving projects at once in a deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, and share knowledge across teams and regions.
- Comfort working with uncertainty, change, urgency, and shifting priorities.
Benefits
The salary for this role is £48,500 to £51,500, and it also includes participation in Strava’s long-term incentive stock programmes. Additional benefits currently offered include flexible working with an expectation of about three office days per week, 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, free Runna and Strava subscriptions for you and three friends, a Headspace membership, annual budget for gear, events, and the gym, health insurance including dental and vision, a workplace 401K scheme, access to Modern Health, and Carrot fertility support.
Interview Process
The hiring process is intended to be straightforward and consists of three stages: an introductory 20-minute video call with Josh, Talent Partner; a 60-minute second-round interview with Charlotte Watts, Senior Manager, Social and Content; and a final round with Charlotte plus several other team members. Accommodation can be provided during the process if needed, including support with scheduling around childcare or accessibility requirements.
Application Notes
Applications must be submitted through the company’s Ashby careers hub, as submissions outside that system cannot be accepted. For application status queries, candidates can contact careers@runna.com. The company also invites applicants to visit its Careers Page for more information.
Compensation
The stated compensation range is £48.5K to £51.5K.
