Role Overview
The College of Education at the University of South Carolina is looking for a Communications Graphic Designer to support the SC TEACHER communications brand and help carry out communication plans and policies aligned with the program’s strategic objectives. This full-time role is based in Columbia, South Carolina.
Key Duties
In this position, you will contribute to a wide range of communications and design tasks. Work will include creating layouts for research reports, producing graphics for social media and marketing use, and developing visuals for team presentations. The role also involves assisting with event preparation and on-site setup, along with other communications and operations support as needed.
Preferred Background
The ideal candidate should bring strong hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools, especially Illustrator and InDesign. You should be comfortable applying visual design principles and staying consistent with brand standards across different types of projects. Strong presentation design and visual communication abilities are important, as is experience with project management or event coordination.
Skills and Abilities
Applicants should be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of proofreading content carefully while following a style guide. Familiarity with web design and HTML is preferred. Experience using project management tools such as Monday, Asana, or Basecamp is also valued. The role requires the ability to adapt creative work to established guidelines and to support multiple tasks efficiently.
