Role Summary

Dexterra is hiring a daytime cleaner to keep the facility clean, organized, and operating at a high standard. This role works the day shift from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and focuses on maintaining a sanitary, presentable environment for staff, clients, and visitors.

Key Duties

• Keep floors, washrooms, and garbage bins clean and well-maintained throughout the facility.
• Carry out cleaning and disinfection tasks in washrooms, shared spaces, and entry areas.
• Restock items that run low or are missing, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap.
• Dust reachable surfaces including counters, pillars, light fixtures, window ledges, and vents.
• Perform spot cleaning on lobby floors and complete full washing when needed.
• Vacuum entry mats in lobby areas.
• Handle turnover cleaning for student rooms.

Qualifications

• Previous floor-care experience is considered an advantage, including scrubbing, buffing, and polishing floors.
• Comfort using cleaning machines and equipment such as auto scrubbers, swing machines, burnishers, and similar tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a supervisor, clients, and the general public.
• Capability to work on your own as well as within a team.
• A positive outlook and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• WHMIS certification is preferred, and training can be provided.
• Ability to bend, turn, stoop, stand, reach high and low, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs. for 3 to 8 hours per shift.
• A clear criminal background check is required.
