Role overview

Tapestry Learning Partnership is undergoing an exciting period of change and growth following its formation in January 2026 through the merger of QEGSMAT and Djanogly Learning Trust. The organisation is seeking a committed Cleaner to support this journey at Hilltop Primary Academy in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, helping to create a positive environment where children can learn and thrive.

What the role involves

You will be part of the estates team and will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming school setting for pupils, staff and visitors. The position calls for someone who takes pride in high standards of cleanliness and understands how important this work is to the wellbeing of the school community.

What the school is looking for

The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking and enthusiastic, with a genuine willingness to contribute to a friendly school environment. You should be able to work independently as well as alongside others, stay motivated without close supervision, and show care and accuracy in your work. A positive attitude and attention to detail are important. Prior cleaning experience would be an advantage, although it is not required because training will be provided.

Safeguarding and pre-employment checks

The Trust is committed to protecting children and young people and expects the same from all staff and volunteers. This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, and applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. It is also a criminal offence to take up or attempt regulated work with children if you are on the DBS barred list.

The Trust may carry out an online presence check as part of its recruitment process. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, so applicants must disclose any cautions, convictions, reprimands or final warnings that are not protected under the relevant legislation.
