This position is for a commercially minded Category Manager who enjoys working with data, suppliers, and negotiation. The role is centered on driving category growth by strengthening supplier partnerships, making the most of purchasing leverage, and improving value for both the business and its suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing efforts and oversee day-to-day supplier relationship management.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
• Review purchasing, sales, and other relevant data along with market information to build, run, and track supplier and buying strategies.
• Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to address issues that could affect operations, customer experience, or partner relationships.
• Create processes, performance measures, and visibility tools that support clearer and more efficient category planning.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant should have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with at least 3 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or a similar function.

They should have a demonstrated history of success in sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, data analysis, strategy creation, and implementation. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and relationship-building skills are important, as is a genuine enthusiasm for strategy and win-win negotiation.
