About the Role
Shangri-La Singapore is seeking a Captain for its Shophouse outlet. This role is centered on delivering polished service in a premium hospitality setting and supporting a guest experience that reflects the property’s service standards and values.
About the Property
Located on 15 acres of landscaped grounds, only a short distance from Orchard Road, Shangri-La Singapore is positioned as an urban retreat for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel features 792 guestrooms and suites across three distinct wings, including family-oriented rooms with dedicated amenities.
Role Overview
The Captain will help lead day-to-day service operations at Shophouse by providing attentive guest interactions, responding to feedback with care, and ensuring that food, beverage, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, personalized, and attentive service that aligns with the brand’s hospitality standards.
- Address guest comments and service issues quickly, professionally, and with a focus on recovery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menu offerings, beverages, service steps, and product details.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety requirements at all times.
Requirements
- Certificate or diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or a similar field.
- At least 1 year of experience in Food & Beverage service.
- Strong enthusiasm for guest service and delivering excellent hospitality.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and standard service practices.
- Comfortable working flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
