About the Company
The Italian Job Catering is a premium catering business on the Gold Coast, focused on upscale weddings and events. The company is recognised for high-quality food, well-built systems, and smooth event delivery. As the business expands, it is hiring a strong operations leader to manage daily activity, strengthen processes, and support ongoing growth.
Role Summary
This position is a practical business operations role rather than a standard event coordination job. It combines operational oversight, team coordination, process improvement, client communication, and event support. You will partner closely with the owners to keep every part of the business running efficiently, proactively, and in sync. The right person will be forward-thinking, comfortable taking ownership, and able to solve problems independently.
The role is based in the office on the Gold Coast and is full time. It also includes occasional on-site event work, especially during the first six months, so you can develop a strong understanding of the company’s workflows, team setup, venues, and service expectations.
Key Duties
- Manage everyday business operations and keep work moving smoothly across teams
- Handle the final operational coordination for weddings and events
- Organise schedules, run sheets, staff rosters, and staffing requirements
- Refine and maintain internal systems, procedures, and SOPs
- Track event preparedness, planning calendars, and workflow performance
- Collaborate with kitchen, warehouse, and administration teams
- Assist with quoting processes and senior-level client communication
- Support marketing activities and help maintain brand alignment
- Spot workflow problems and put practical improvements in place
- Help develop team capability, accountability, and performance standards
Technology and AI
A distinctive part of this role is working with modern automation and AI tools. The company uses platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, and workflow automation systems to improve efficiency, communication, and operations. Training will be provided, but confidence with technology and enthusiasm for AI will be a strong advantage.

Additional Information
