About the company
biio. supports people living with complex invisible illnesses, including hypermobility, dysautonomia, MCAS, chronic pain, and fatigue-related conditions. In just two years, the organisation has delivered care to over 4,000 people across more than 17,000 consults and expanded to a team of more than 50. A Melbourne clinic is set to open in July/August as the first east-coast location, with Sydney and Brisbane planned next.
Role overview
This part-time bookkeeper position is for 1 to 2 days per week, with the workload expected to increase as the business grows. The role centres on keeping day-to-day finances accurate in Xero and ensuring the accountant receives clean, fully reconciled records rather than incomplete paperwork at quarter end.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date bank, credit card, and merchant reconciliations in Xero.
- Handle payroll activities, including pay runs, superannuation, leave, and Single Touch Payroll.
- Prepare and reconcile GST and BAS/IAS for review and lodgement by the accountant.
- Manage month-end closing tasks, including basic reporting such as profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash position, while keeping year-end records orderly.
Working style and culture
The team values thoughtful communication, humility, openness, and inclusion. People who succeed here tend to be low-ego, emotionally intelligent, and collaborative — they ask questions before making assumptions and are open to learning from others' perspectives.
Who this role suits
This opportunity is a strong fit for someone who is meticulous to the cent, stays on top of details without needing reminders, and prefers to surface issues early rather than leave them unresolved until year end. It is less suitable for someone looking for a high-volume processing role with another person reviewing every step.
Additional information
Experience in allied health, healthcare, or NDIS environments would be helpful, but it is not a strict requirement. The main priorities are accuracy, accountability, and consistent follow-through.
