Role Purpose

This position is responsible for leading the water treatment package covering ETP, PUW, and STP operations. The role ensures safe potable water production, reliable treatment performance, and compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. It also focuses on improving efficiency, optimizing resources, strengthening safety practices, and driving sustainable performance across the water treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of Pure Water systems to produce safe, high-quality potable water for both domestic and industrial use through filtration and disinfection.
• Oversee Effluent Treatment Plant and Sewage Treatment Plant operations so that treatment outcomes meet discharge norms, limit environmental impact, and stay within regulatory standards.
• Plan and control manpower, chemical usage, and equipment deployment across PUW, ETP, and STP areas while also preparing and tracking budgets for cost-effective operations.
• Monitor water quality at regular intervals, test treatment performance, and act quickly on deviations to prevent contamination and maintain compliance with safety and environmental rules.
• Introduce water conservation methods and practical process improvements that reduce consumption, improve efficiency, and support environmental sustainability.
• Enforce safety procedures, ensure PPE compliance, and carry out inspections, audits, and risk checks to maintain operational safety and regulatory adherence.
• Use data-driven analysis to identify process gaps, reduce downtime, improve system performance, and deliver operational savings through technology and process optimization.
• Guide, coach, and develop the operations and maintenance team while promoting a respectful, safe, and high-performance workplace culture.

Stakeholders

Internal: Lead - C&I; Engineer - Chemist; Lead - Mechanical; Package Incharge - O&M (CAS & PCW); Area Incharge - Chemical.

External: Water treatment equipment suppliers; waste management companies; consultants; laboratories.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Additional certifications in water and wastewater treatment or environmental management will be an advantage. Strong knowledge of water chemistry, treatment methods, and environmental regulations is important.

Experience

The role calls for 8 to 10 years of experience in industrial water and wastewater treatment operations. Candidates should have hands-on experience managing treatment plants, maintaining compliance with environmental norms, implementing conservation initiatives, and leading water treatment teams.
