Role Overview
We are seeking an Assembler to support operations at the Stratford, Ontario facility. In this position, you will assemble, test, and wind coils used in electrical equipment and instruments by following wiring diagrams, sample coils, and work orders. You will also operate coil-winding machines and use hand tools to produce accurate coils while working under the direction of experienced Coil Winder team members.

Compensation
The union wage rate for this position is CAD 24.35 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
- Study wiring diagrams and work orders to identify the required wire type, specifications, and coil details.
- Choose and install the appropriate coil-forming components on winding equipment.
- Feed wire through tensioning devices and guide wires, then bend it to create leads.
- Control wire tension and keep track of the number of turns during the winding process.
- Insert insulation between coil layers and around finished coils to protect them.
- Trim wire ends to form leads and shape end windings as required.
- Solder lead wires to terminals and carry out quality checks on coil winding work.
- Apply varnish or other insulating materials to strengthen and secure the coils.
Required Background
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Basic knowledge of electrical components and insulation materials.
- Strong awareness of product quality and adherence to health and safety rules.
- Ability to work with guidance from experienced Coil Winder team members.
- Openness to learning new tools, methods, and techniques.
- Careful attention to detail and accuracy in coil winding tasks.
