Role overview

YO IT Consulting is hiring a remote Academic Researcher for a contract assignment. In this position, you will support the development of next-generation AI systems by contributing high-quality research and real-world expertise that helps improve model learning, reasoning, and performance.

What you will do

• Carry out detailed research and analysis within your subject area, and turn findings into strong, evidence-backed insights.
• Draft, format, and review complex Word and PDF documents using advanced functions such as tracked changes, form completion, and data extraction.
• Work with teams across legal, healthcare, policy, and finance functions to support a variety of project requirements.
• Convert complicated research outcomes into polished reports and presentations suitable for Fortune 500-level expectations.
• Assess and combine academic papers, legal materials, and industry data to guide project decisions.
• Keep all deliverables accurate, consistent, and aligned with the required standards and guidelines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and spoken form with stakeholders and internal team members.

Experience and qualification needs

• You should have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in academic research, legal, policy, healthcare, or a closely related field.
• A Master’s degree, PhD, or JD from a recognized institution is required.
• You must be comfortable preparing and reviewing Word and PDF files, including tracked edits, formatting tasks, document review, and data extraction.
• Strong writing and speaking skills, along with excellent attention to detail, are essential.
• You should be able to handle several priorities at once in a remote, deadline-focused setup.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams on complex deliverables is important.
• A history of producing client-ready, high-quality work is expected.

Preferred background

• Experience supporting or working within Fortune 500 organizations is preferred.
• Prior exposure to document workflows in legal, healthcare, policy, or financial operations is an advantage.
• An active record of publications or presentations in academic or industry settings is also desirable.
